Nothing on your homepage tells someone what you sell or what it costs. There are no prices, no shipping information, and no reviews, so a first-time visitor has to click into a product page before they learn anything. Most of them don't.
A score on its own is trivia. Put a competitor next to it and you can see exactly what they do that you don't. Adding one is free.
Same products, same photos, same prices. What changed is what people see first.
The colour in the mockup is pulled off your own site. This is a layout, not a finished design.
Ranked by what each one costs for this goal. Pick a different goal and the order changes.
The big text at the top says "Made With Intention." That could be a candle shop, a clothing brand, or a furniture company. Your title tag says "Handmade Ceramics," which is the useful part, but that only shows in the Google result and the browser tab. Someone arriving from Instagram sees the slogan and nothing else.
People who can't tell what you sell in the first few seconds close the tab instead of scrolling.
Your featured products show a photo and nothing else. No price, no product name in text. Shoppers use price to decide whether you're worth their time, and hiding it reads as expensive. They have to click into a product page to find out, and that's one more step than most people will take.
Every extra click before someone sees a price is a place they can leave.
Shipping isn't mentioned on the page at all. For handmade goods that ship in a box, this is the first question people have, and unexpected shipping cost at checkout is the single most common reason a cart gets abandoned. If shipping is free over a certain amount, that belongs at the top of the page, not in a footer link.
People who don't know what shipping costs assume the worst and don't start checkout.
Someone who has never heard of you is being asked to send money for something handmade that they can't touch first. There is nothing on this page from another customer. Three real reviews with the product name would do more work here than the whole About section.
A first-time visitor has no reason to believe the order will arrive as pictured.
Your featured section links to a mug, a bowl, and a plate. Everything else in the store is behind the Shop link in the menu. Most people who land on a homepage never open the menu, so in practice you have a three-product store.
Products nobody can find don't sell, and Google has a harder time indexing them too.
The Follow Along section puts 24 images on the homepage, and none of them are set to load lazily. They're beautiful, and they're also the heaviest thing on the page. Most of your traffic is on a phone, and those images load before someone reaches the newsletter box.
A slow homepage costs you the visitors who came from a phone, which is most of them.
Made With Intention
Handmade stoneware, thrown and glazed one at a time.
Says what you sell and how it's made in one line, and keeps the slow-making idea you already lead with.
Mugs, bowls and plates made by hand in small batches.
Names the actual products. Someone searching for a handmade mug knows immediately they're in the right place.
Everyday ceramics you'll actually use.
Shorter and warmer, and it answers the quiet objection that handmade pottery is too precious for daily use.
Subhead
Thrown, glazed and fired in small batches. Free shipping on orders over $75, and 30 day returns if it isn't right.
Puts the two things shoppers actually want to know, shipping and returns, on the first screen instead of in the footer.
We could not verify this from your site. Check it is true before you publish it.
Button text
Everything here is thrown by hand in a small studio, glazed by hand, and fired in batches of about twenty. That means no two pieces match exactly, and it means we run out. What's on the site is what exists right now.
Keeps your story but turns it into a reason to buy today. Small batches means scarcity, and saying it plainly beats saying you believe in slow making.
Headline, shipping and returns line, shop button
What you sell and what it costs to get it, before anything else.
Six products with names and prices
The store is the product. Three photos with no prices is not a storefront.
Three reviews
Proof from other customers, placed before you ask anyone to trust you.
Our Story, cut to a short paragraph
Worth keeping, but it isn't what a first-time visitor came for.
Instagram photos, trimmed to six
Beautiful and heavy. Six is enough to show the vibe.
Newsletter signup
Fine at the bottom. This is for people who scrolled and didn't buy.
Hero slider
Most people never see the second slide, and it delays the first thing they do see.
Right now your featured products are three photos with no words and no numbers.
In Shopify, swap the image row for a Featured Collection section, which shows the product title and price automatically. Set it to show six products instead of three.
Shopify admin, Online Store, Themes, Customize, then the Featured section on your Home page
1. Click the Featured section in the left sidebar
2. Remove the three image blocks
3. Add section, choose Featured collection
4. Collection: All (or make one called Best sellers)
5. Products to show: 6
6. Tick Show product price and Show product title
7. Tick Show 'Add to cart' button if your theme has it
8. SaveIt's the first question people have and it isn't answered anywhere on the page.
Put your real terms in a thin bar above the header, where every page shows it. If you offer free shipping over an amount, say the amount. If you don't, say what it costs. Both beat silence.
Shopify admin, Online Store, Themes, Edit code, sections/announcement-bar.liquid. Paste inside the existing <div>, replacing the current text.

Pick three that mention the specific product. Add the product name under each one. If you have photos customers sent, use those instead of stock images.
"Made With Intention" doesn't say ceramics.
Paste in one of the three options above. Keep the old line if you like it, just move it into the story section where it belongs.

Cut it to six. In your theme settings, turn on lazy loading for images below the first screen. Most Shopify themes have this as a checkbox.
Every fix for wandergoods.example is written out above, and it's still a few hours of work. If you'd rather not spend your weekend on it, we can go through the homepage together instead.
The call costs nothing, and there's no price until I've seen the site. Your score and all 6 problems come with the message, so we don't start from a blank page.
